Yacht loading and unloading supervision

For every yacht we ship, a Cigisped loadmaster is there for the loading and for the discharge. The loadmaster works with the ship's crew and the port team so the lift goes to plan, and an independent surveyor records the yacht's condition before and after. What the loadmaster checks

• The yacht's lifting plan, and where the soft slings sit against it
• The spreader bar, which keeps the slings clear of the topsides
• The position of the cradle on deck, so the keel carries the weight and the rails spread the rest
• The lashing and sea fastening before the ship sails
• The discharge at the other end, into the water or onto the quay

Why someone should be there

A ship's crane crew lifts all kinds of cargo. Having a person on the quay who knows yachts means the slings, the cradle and the lashing are set for your boat, not for a generic load. If anything unusual comes up during the operation, someone from our side is there to deal with it on the spot.

Part of every shipment

Supervision isn't an extra you have to remember to book. It comes with the transport, whether the yacht is going by lift on/lift off or float on/float off, and it covers both ends of the trip.
