Getting a yacht from Dubai to Doha is shorter than most people expect, but it's never a straight line. By road the boat has to cross Saudi Arabia. By sea it goes into Hamad Port on a carrier heading up the Gulf. We run both from our Dubai office and pick whichever suits your boat and your deadline.

The road route, step by step
- Loading in the UAE. The boat goes onto its cradle and a lowbed trailer at your marina or yard, and we clear the export.
- Ghuwaifat. The truck leaves the UAE at Ghuwaifat, the only land crossing into Saudi Arabia. Queues there can run from hours to days in busy periods, so we build that into the plan.
- Transit through Saudi Arabia. The yacht crosses under bonded transit, which means no Saudi import duty. If it's over the standard size, it also needs a Saudi oversize permit, which we arrange.
- Abu Samra. The truck enters Qatar at the Salwa/Abu Samra border, where the import is cleared.
- Delivery in Doha. We launch the boat or hand it over at your marina or boatyard.
When the sea makes more sense
Large motor yachts and anything too tall for the road go by ship. We book the yacht on a lift on/lift off or float on/float off carrier and have it discharged at Hamad Port. The sea route is also the natural choice for a yacht coming from Europe, since it can stay on the same vessel all the way to Doha instead of being trucked across two borders. Our loadmaster supervises the lift at both ends.
Arriving in Doha
Old Doha Port is the busiest spot for visiting yachts. It has more than 450 berths and the country's largest dry dock. Since May 2025 it has run Minakom, a digital service for customs and immigration formalities on arrival, which speeds up clearance for boats coming in under their own power. Porto Arabia at The Pearl and Lusail Marina are the other main options, depending on your yacht's size and where you want to keep it.
